This character design was created as a part of a series of collaborative design projects inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  

This character design was created for the game project Charlie and the Chocolate Islands, a fantasy inspired retelling of the classic story. This design is of Charlie, the playable protagonist.

Here is the accompanying description from the presentation:

Initially you play as Charlie Bucket, the protagonist. Charlie is a monster-hunter recruited by Willy Wonka to defeat the candy creatures that he claims terrorise and destroy his islands and endanger the guests.

As the game progresses, you encounter other monster hunters on the island, and by helping them out, they can join your party!

Once a character has joined your party, they will follow you around, and you’ll be able to swap between playing as Charlie, and your party members. These supporting heroes include, Augustus Gloop the Ragged Bounty Hunter, Veruca Salt the Sharpshooter, Violet Beauregarde the Assassin, and monster expert Mike Teevee!
